Margaret Mitchell was interviewed by Scott Street Mag, a student-led magazine from the Glasgow School of Art, about her work and photographic practice. The article features a selection of images spanning her career, and in the interview she discusses—among other topics—good practice, responsibility, and the ethical considerations within creative work.
An Ordinary Eden exhibition was the culmination of many strands of individual experiences from people I’d met and photographed. I wanted the work to inform, start conversations, raise awareness, and promote reflection. Bringing it together in one venue with associated talks and panel discussion enabled the experiences I’d documented to be acknowledged and the wider issues discussed.
